Workship: Integrating Faith and Work
Course Code: PL1805
This course supports the learning from the 2018 Integral Dinner of the same name but is also a stand-alone course.
The course is based on research carried out by Kara Martin which she has described in her current two books: Workship 1 and Workship 2 and also references other works.
Purpose of this course
The course has been designed to give access to some of the current thinking on how to understand the integration of faith and work from a Biblical perspective. It is specifically designed for teachers professing a faith, as the research incorporates the concept of work as a form of worship.
Explicit Course Outcomes
- To develop a Biblical understanding of the concept of work.
- To develop an understanding of the contribution to workplace culture made by acts of hospitality, beauty, positive relationships and social justice.
- To develop an informed understanding of how to deal with bullying in the workplace.
- To develop skills that help to redeem the workplace by changing culture.
